Welcome to the Allegheny County Library Association’s (ACLA) 2020 Summer Reading Program website! In an unprecedented show of collaboration, ACLA and its member libraries have come together to provide an extensive slate of programs for the entire county and surrounding areas, as well as partners in the region. We encourage you to explore the many engaging activities and hope this is your destination for family entertainment and discovery this summer.

There is something for everyone in the ACLA’s 2020 Summer Reading Program.  More information is also available on individual programs on the ACLA Youth Services Facebook page, including where to access the program.

Note: Programs are subject to change and are continually added to the calendar.

Virtual Bingo Card

For each of the eight weeks of the summer reading, a new bingo card will be featured that provides reading prompts and activities that correspond with the weekly theme. Participants must complete one bingo card before submitting to or their local participating library. Maximum of two cards per participant. A different prize will be distributed randomly each week to those who submit a completed bingo card.

Follow ACLA Youth Services (@aclayouthservices) on Facebook for ideas on how to complete some of the squares. Share pictures of your adventures completing the bingo card by tagging ACLA Youth Services and using the hashtags #aclasummerreading2020 or #aclasummerbingocard.

Each day, parents can view posts from are partners, Common Sense Media and WQED Education/PBS Kids. Check here daily for these resources and more, including logging books with your local library using Beanstack.

Story walks

Looking for an offline, outdoor activity to do with the entire family?  Visit one of these story walks located at various parks throughout the county.

Thank you to these partners for their support of the ACLA’s 2020 Summer Reading Program through social media content and programming!
